Ironstone, Grain Sack, and Linen are the three colors I consider to be in the white family of Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint. Ironstone has a slight pink undertone and is the whitest of these colors. Linen‘s undertone is a very pale yellow and Grain Sack’s is just a tinge of gray. I was glad I marked the bottoms of the eggs as I was painting or it would have been easy to confuse them. I mixed each sample of milk paint, painted each egg a different color, photographed and uploaded the images along with scans of painted samples.
I get many requests to send larger files of my swatch books and it is just not possible. So before I combine these into a swatch book of all 18 MMS colors where they will be considerably smaller files, I’m posting each color on a separate color card for downloading and printing. I wish I had thought to do this with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint colors but I was new blogger and had no idea anyone would want a larger size. As always please feel free to download, share, pin, print and use as a reference. I mixed each sample of milk paint, painted each egg a different color, photographed and uploaded the images along with scans of painted samples. I use Adobe Photoshop for the graphic designs. Although accurate, the colors may appear differently on your screen or on printed paper, because color varies from screen to screen and printer to printer. Remember, the best way to guarantee color is by hand painting a sample.
Paint color can be so confusing sometimes. There are many color studies, color cards, custom color recipes and swatch books on Colorways. You can find them by clicking on the Tools tab and the Color Palette. For mixing colors see my posts, ASCP Custom Color Greens, Mixing for Green, Mixing for Purple, and Mixing for Orange
I like Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint for my craft and furniture projects, but for walls nothing compares to Pure & Original Fresco Lime Paint. I love the natural variations of shades and tones the lime creates within one paint color. You have to see how gorgeous it is! Checkout my most recent interior design make overs with Fresco.
