Valentine Colors

Next week we are scheduled to shoot a bunch of new videos . So this week I’m spending most of my time preparing and not painting much in the way of furniture. Starting tomorrow I will be sharing some of the behind the scenes process that go into getting ready and filming the tutorials.

My blog post for today is a repost of something I did more than a year ago when I just started Colorways. I wasn’t totally clear on the direction I was heading or even if blogging was going to be a long term commitment for me. As a result, that post was definitely more about the graphic design background I was coming from and, not  the actual painting of furniture.  (you can see the original post here on blogspot)

Much has changed in a year, and graphic design will always influence the way I present my images and posts, but it is no longer the main focus of my work. I thought you might enjoy revisiting a post which I’m sure almost no one saw because the blog was so new.  As we head into February, here is a Valentine Card I digitally created (way too many hours), from the chalk paint colors.

Color charts are an important part of the information I share here on Colorways. At this point you can find them on the Tools tab,  where you will also find all of my videos (That will be changing soon with the videos having their own category). The two most popular charts are the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Colors +Tints  (pinned over 10,000 times on Pinterest) and  Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Colors and Shades.

But there are also charts for Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint , here, and here.  And eventually there will be more as I add the new and different paints I’m currently testing out. More to come on that soon:)
