Swedish Gustavian Chest

Swedish Gustavian Chest of Drawers

One way to create a Swedish Gustavian finish, like the one on this antique chest of drawers,  is to use Annie Sloan Chalk Paint®. A first layer of Scandinavian Pink, followed by a coat of Pure White. Gently distress to expose the underlying pink, seal with wax, and you are finished.

Hi Leslie,
Love your website and all your incredible colour recipes. As to layering. On this piece you started with one layer of Scandinavian Pink and another layer of Pure White. Do you distress with sandpaper or wet distress with a sponge?
Many thanks, Ingrid

Somehow I am going to use this combination somewhere in my home! Love this look, it really changes the dynamic of a simple-lined piece!
