Natural Age

Natural Age

Natural aging develops with time and wear. Also called patina, it gives a sense of character and history to antiques and vintage furniture. To create a faux patina on a newer piece, paint in layers with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint®. For the first layer use Scandinavian Pink and add accents of English Yellow. Follow with Louis Blue and touches of Chateau Grey. For a cracked, chippy paint finish use a crackle medium  following the directions carefully. An easy way to add interest and complexity to painted  furniture.

Patina and verdigris come in many color combinations. For more ideas see Architectural Patina on an outdoor ornament, a luscious Turquoise on a cabinet drawer, a faux Verdigris painted with one color on an outdoor light, and a  Weathered Zinc finish on planters and flower pots.

Does Annie Sloan know about you!? If she does not then she needs to meet you, you are doing great advertising for her paint and color recipes. I look forward to your emails every day.
Thanks so much
