Inspired by Martha Stewart

I was looking through some of my old Martha Stewart Living magazines and came across this sweet Victorian chest in an issue from 1998. It still pops up on Pinterest from time to time, and whenever I see it, I smile. Martha was probably the first DIYer I ever paid attention too and it was primarily due to her amazing sense of color. Her color palettes with the subtle variations in shades and tints always inspire me to try new combinations. She described this piece as a “citron yellow with honey trim.”

Although she didn’t use Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® to paint it 15+ years ago, you can create a similar look with English Yellow and Old White. Mix them together in different amounts to create a light shade for frame and drawers and a darker shade for the trim and handles. Easy, fast, and guaranteed to make you smile.
