Flea Market Find

Old cupboards like this one (found here) , sometimes called jelly cabinets, are easy to find in flea markets.  They are inexpensive and provide great storage. Part of their charm is their wear and age, but many can be enhanced  with a quick coat of paint. Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® is perfect for this task.

Mix Provence and Pure White into two shades, one slightly lighter (more white) than the other. For a layered look,  paint the first coat solidly and for the second coat lighter coat leave areas where the under coat is exposed. Adding dabs of Louis Blue and highlights of Pure White, will add an authentic patina to this flea market find.

See more options for color schemes on Jelly cabinets, here, here, and here.

Beautiful as always Leslie, love the color. Right now I am gonna paint a cabinett due to your color choises (emperor´s silk, barcelona orange, greek blue and old white) To get this red I shall mix emperiors silk and barcelona orange. There is no other way of getting more “christmas red” isn,t it? All red colors are to cherry for me. But I tested this above and it feels good.
Shall send you the photo when it is ready. My chair with the rosefabric is ready, shall put in on FB tomorrow, have some details left. hugs Anna
