I love all things design, so when I spotted this vintage flat file cabinet at a local thrift store, I couldn’t get my credit card out fast enough. (Really, I almost ran to the cashier.) Old and oak, sturdy and worn, practical and charming.
When in doubt, Antibes Green Chalk Paint never disappoints. A first coat painted solidly, followed by layers of Graphite mixed with Antibes Green, to give dimension to the finish. Unfortunately the top was badly damaged, or I would have left it unpainted.
A marriage of function and beauty, in stunning green.
Not all of my pieces are so practical. This Chinese Apothecary Cabinet is huge and only stores Christmas tree ornaments. An original Printer’s Type Cabinet looked like this before several coats of Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint and lots of structural work. And then there were those chandeliers I bought in a box lot because I liked one…. and that one is still waiting to be installed…..
